Breast Surgery
Breast cancer is a significant public health issue, affecting many patients. With proper screening, many patients are diagnosed early and can be successfully treated by a team approach and be offered a breast conserving operation by Dr. Hirai. In addition, sentinel lymph node biopsies have largely replaced axillary node dissections, resulting in decreased risk of nerve injury and chronic swelling of the arm after treating breast cancer.
